WJ Baker specialise in bulk haulage transport and pneumatic conveying (also known as blower trailers). Pneumatic conveying / our blower trailers can be used for a wide range of products including feed granules, wheat and barley, fertiliser, wood and plastic pallets.

Our pneumatic conveying systems are used to fill and empty storage facilities, replacing the need for augers, belt conveyors and elevators, reducing risk and being a cost-effective method of product transfer.

We can transport, transfer and blow product into silos, sheds, vehicles at any time with no on site assistance required. 

These systems have the capability to pneumatically convey product safely, efficiently and reliably. 

Our trailers are also segmented so our customers can segment their haulage if they are requiring smaller quantities of product, a very cost-effective option in dealing with small quantities.

The Baker family’s involvement in the transport industry spans over three generations, starting with Walter James (Jim) Baker. Jim had a transport business based in Tai Tapu, selling the company in 1973 to pursue farming. 

Gary Baker (Current Owner Director with wife Sally Baker) re-established the company in 1979 as a 19-year-old. Gary started off with an ACCO International transporting general freight. When the contract came under the large umbrella of Mainfrieght, Gary began to transport long-haul throughout the South Island.
